Jose Fernandez: Hi, I'm Jose Fernandez, and this is a day in my life. Rookie Jose Fernandez probably has two more starts before he'll be shut down, and the Miami Marlins are adjusting his schedule to make sure those are home games. According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, the Miami Marlins are planning to shut down All-Star and National League Rookie of the Year candidate Jose Fernandez after two more starts. Marlins star pitcher Jose Fernandez, a strong candidate for the National League Rookie of the Year Award, recently sat down with MLB.com reporter Jesse Sanchez to discuss, among other things, his rapid rise to the Major Leagues and his life in Cuba before his defection in 2008. Fernandez, 21, was one of the best stories in baseball this season, exceeding even the most optimistic expectations, and blowing my pessimistic expectations out of the water. The biggest number, though, at least in the mind of the Marlins, is 158 2/3. Marlins manager Mike Redmond said Saturday the team will hold firm to a 170-innings limit for the phenom. He has thrown 158 2-3 innings.
