AFC West notes: Veldheer getting MRIVeldheer is getting an MRI on his triceps. Raiders star left tackle Jared Veldheer who had a MRI yesterday will most likely now miss the rest of the 2013 season. Jim Veldheer, the father of Raiders tackle Jared Veldheer, tweeted Friday “Jared is in recovery. All went well. Praise the Lord.’’ Allen said Veldheer will be a candidate to be put on the injured reserve list with a designation for return, which would require him to miss at least the first eight weeks of the season. The torn left triceps sustained by Jared Veldheer, according to a Tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, is a “lesser form” of the same injury which sidelined Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis and 49ers defensive lineman Justin Smith last season. Coach Dennis Allen announced the diagnosis on Wednesday after the team got the results of a second MRI on the injured arm. If they plan to give Matt Flynn anytime at all in the pocket, they better do something and bring in some real linemen or it would be wise to start Terrelle Pryor who can scramble and make play on the run because now who ever starts at QB for Oakland will not have a solid line protecting them that is for sure.
