Alfred Morris ran his way to offensive player of the week
Summary of 2 articles · Updated Jan 2, 2013
Running back Alfred Morris turned in a tremendous season after being selected in the sixth round and his final game of the regular season was good enough to land him NFC offensive rookie of the month honors. Morris and Griffin are the first rookie running back/quarterback tandem to win offensive player of the week in the same season. Morris ran for 200 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday night’s NFC East-clinching 28-18 victory over the Cowboys. You’ve probably heard a little bit about quarterback Robert Griffin III by now, but the second overall pick hasn’t been the only first-year player to light things up on offense.
