• ARKUSH: Joe Anderson is a keeper; J’Marcus Webb not so much

    Summary of 22 articles · Updated Sep 3, 2013
The Bears didn’t need J’Marcus Webb any longer, but he didn’t have to wait long or move far for his next chance. This morning, the J’Marcus Webb era of my life officially came to a close. Webb entered the offseason as the starter at right tackle, and stayed in that spot through the early part of training camp. He had several games where he surrendered multiple sacks, including a 2012 Week 2 contest at Green Bay when a frustrated Cutler bumped Webb walking off the field after the offensive lineman missed another blocking assignment. In the very unique situation the Bears find themselves in, where this veteran team is going to start three rookies in Week 1, is it really possible that Kyle Long, Jordan Mills and Jon Bostic are so far along that they couldn’t have benefitted from at least a few reps or, more realistically, a quarter or even a half?
