    With the first pick in the Rule 5 Draft, Houston helped shore up its bullpen by adding right-hander Josh Fields from Boston. 6-7 slugger The Astros’ Rule 5 pull grew stronger at the end of the major league portion of the draft. They selected reliever Josh Fields with the No. 1 overall pick during the major league portion of the draft on the final day of the winter meetings at the Opryland Hotel. The club has taken some calls about trading pitcher Bud Norris, who's arbitration-eligible. Luhnow had several conversations with representatives for free agents and threw around some trade scenarios, but he wasn't able to acquire a bat.
