The Houston Astros will host the Baltimore Orioles in the annual MLB Civil Rights game on May 30. Major League Baseball announced Tuesday that the Astros will play host to the 2014 Civil Rights Game, scheduled for May 30 against the Orioles at Minute Maid Park. The Astros’ game against the Orioles on May 30 at Minute Maid has been designated as MLB’s's annual Civil Rights Game. In addition to the 2014 Civil Rights Game at Minute Maid Park, several events will take place throughout the week, including: "The Civil Rights Game and its surrounding events are an opportunity not only for our game to honor those who have fought for equality throughout American history, but also to remind us that the battle against injustice continues. “We’ve really worked since we took over the Astros to promote diversity.” Commissioner Bud Selig announced the game and says the Astros have "demonstrated a substantial commitment to supporting diversity throughout our industry."
