The Houston Astros have traded minor league left-hander pitcher Travis Blackley to the Texas Rangers for cash and a player to be named later. Blackley, whom the Astros acquired from Oakland via trade on April 4 after he had been designated for assignment by the Athletics, was 1-1 with a 4.89 ERA over 42 games this season. The 30-year-old Blackley went 1-1 with a 4.89 ERA in 42 relief appearances for Houston this season before being designated for assignment on Aug. 8.
