• Atkins' injury leaves Bengals with decision

With Atkins down the Bengals finished last Thursday's game in Miami with just and as their tackles. Atkins is the eighth member of the Bengals defense to wind up on injured reserve so far this season. Any kind of timetable is meaningless at this point because Atkins just suffered the injury, but the Bengals are surely hopeful that he’ll be ready to go in time for training camp. With his move to IR, Atkins joins cornerback Leon Hall , defensive end Robert Geathers and defensive back Taylor Mays as Bengals players whose seasons have ended due to injury. If that number keeps going up, the Bengals will have a hard time remaining in front of the AFC North. The Bengals' search for a veteran to add to the line was brief, since they were looking for a healthy guy that could play right away, was in shape, and had at least a training camp and preseason under him. The 6-5, 320-pound Bilukidi, who played 71 downs for the Raiders in five games and had a sack before being waived last week, is a sixth-rounder out of the mold with little football experience but has an interesting athletic upside.
