    Lofton signed with the Saints as a free agent last offseason after playing four seasons with the Falcons. In the days after the game, Falcons wide receiver Roddy White said the trash talk directed at Lofton was playful but Lofton didn’t seem to take it that way. Lofton said Tuesday that the pregame incident was a “fact.” So is the fact that the Saints claim not to view their relationship with the Falcons as a rivalry at all. I think you could just get the sense from them that they were 8-0 and we were just supposed to understand that and bow to them," said Shanle, who said his comments got more national attention than he expected but that the Falcons can't really argue with what he said. Shanle didn't back down from his comments Tuesday, but he did stress that the rivalry is a lot more respectful between most of the players than fans would think.
