Although a signing was not imminent, the Jaguars continued to explore potential roster additions Thursday by working out free agent running back Beanie Wells. Lacking depth at the running back position because of Maurice Jones-Drew’s recovery from foot surgery, the Jaguars worked out former first-round pick Beanie Wells after today’s organized team activity. The Jaguars have six tailbacks under contract. Wells has his own red flags. Wells had some interest early in free agency and took a physical with the Steelers, but nothing came of it and there haven’t been any reports of interest in his services in quite a while. The Jaguars held their second-to-last organized team activity practice Thursday morning in a steady rain. Justin Forsett is slated to be the No. 2 back in Jacksonville with Denard Robinson in a role that still needs to be defined as he makes the transition from quarterback.
