Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll had been optimistic earlier this week that cornerback Brandon Browner would be able to return this week after missing the team’s season opener against the Carolina Panthers with a hamstring strain. Seattle’s official injury list, though, listed Browner as a nonparticipant for Thursday’s practice, as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury suffered last week that held him out of the Carolina game. He is expected to practice on Thursday in his attempt to get back on the field after sitting out the opener against Carolina. Also out Thursday was defensive tackle Tony McDaniel, listed as out with a groin injury, an ailment he has had for a few weeks, though he recovered well enough to start at Carolina. Defensive end Cliff Avril , the Seattle Seahawks ' top offseason acquisition on defense, finally will get on the field Sunday when the Seahawks play host to the San Francisco 49ers .
