    The Atlanta Braves and young starter Julio Teheran have agreed on a six-year contract with a club option for the 2020 season. The Braves agreed to terms Friday with right-handed pitcher Julio Teheran on a six-year contract that runs through the 2019 season and includes an option for the 2020 campaign. Teheran, 22, owns a 15-9 career record with a 3.44 ERA in 37 games . Teheran made 30 starts and posted a 14-8 record with a 3.20 ERA, 170 strikeouts and 45 walks in 185 2/3 innings. "We are excited to sign Julio to a long-term contract," Braves general manager Frank Wren said. He also led all rookies in walks per nine innings and ranked second in wins and strikeouts, third in opponents' batting average and fourth in ERA.
