Running back Bobby Rainey was claimed off of waivers from the Browns. The Bucs announced Monday afternoon that they claimed Bobby Rainey off waivers from Cleveland. Rainey had 13 carries for 34 yards and four catches for 19 yards for the Browns in six games this season. Rainey could fill Demps’ role as a change-of-pace back and also could be a factor in the return game. The Buccaneers are holding out hope that running back Doug Martin will play again this season, but they made a move on Monday that acknowledges the need for help in the backfield until they know Martin’s outlook after Sunday’s shoulder injury. He didn’t play in any regular season games, however, and wound up with the Browns after failing to make the Baltimore roster this summer.
