    Veteran baseball executive Bill Livesey was hired Thursday by the Pirates to be a senior advisor to general manager Neal Huntington. The Pittsburgh Pirates have hired Bill Livesey as senior adviser to general manager Neal Huntington. Livesey was a Yankees scout from 2008-11. Livesey, whose son Jeff was Pittsburgh's minor league hitting coordinator the last two seasons, has also worked with the Tampa Bay Rays, New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays. His new job is to help the Bucs the same way. Owner Bob Nutting opted to keep the management team intact but also pledged to make any changes he felt would help Pittsburgh contend for the postseason in 2013.
