The Twins rallied late and scored on a walk-off error from catcher Francisco Cervelli in the 11th inning to come away with a 2-1 win over the Yankees on Saturday afternoon at Target Field. The left-hander flipped it to Cervelli for the forceout at home. Ichiro Suzuki stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch with two outs in the fifth before coming home on Cervelli's single to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead. Plouffe hit a tapper back to Thornton who flipped the ball home for a forceout, but Cervelli's throw to first base sailed high and into right field to allow Willingham to score the winning run. The Twins had struggled offensively up to that point and didn't get on the scoreboard against Yankees right-hander David Phelps until the seventh inning, when Willingham connected on a solo shot to left field. Minnesota wasted a scoring opportunity in the third inning with two runners on and one out, as Chris Parmelee grounded out back to Phelps and Morales flied out to center field to end the inning.
