Rookies Greg Gatson and Sean Cattouse didn't begin the season on the Chargers' roster. Gatson, a former Arkansas cornerback, and Cattouse, a former California safety, were promoted Wednesday to the 53-man roster. They took the roster spots vacated by nose tackle Aubrayo Franklin and safety Brandon Taylor, who were placed on season-ending injured reserve with knee injuries.
