The Chiefs have released linebacker Robert James and Dominique Jones, the club said Thursday. The Chiefs signed Jones to their practice squad on Oct. The 26-year-old Jones appeared in two games for the Chiefs in 2013, finishing the season on the reserve/non-football illness list. He joined the Chiefs’ practice squad at midseason after spending the 2012 season and most of the 2013 season with the Indianapolis Colts. They also have four inside linebackers on the roster in Derrick Johnson, Nico Johnson, James-Michael Johnson and Akeem Jordon, though the latter is set to hit free-agency when it begins March 11.
