Browns CEO Joe Banner says Jimmy Haslam is still heavily involved with the team despite his legal woes. Browns CEO Joe Banner once again tried to appease the fan base Wednesday, saying he doesn't believe Haslam will be forced to give up the Browns. Banner said the league is satisfied the Browns are running smoothly and confident how Haslam is leading despite his legal troubles. And just when they thought they had it via the purchase of the team by former Steelers minority owner Jimmy Haslam, Browns fans now have to worry about a civil and criminal legal morass that could threaten Haslam’s ability to keep the team. While the likelihood of the scenario currently is unknown, Banner should at least see it as one possible outcome if Haslam is indicted and ultimately convicted of federal fraud charges. They should continue to worry until the dominoes fall in a way that allows Haslam to remain among the free and that leaves him with the financial wherewithal to continue to own an NFL team. He said he anticipates that all three quarterbacks, Brandon Weeden, Jason Campbell and Brian Hoyer, will be on the roster this season, but that the club will always look for ways to improve the team.
