    The Cleveland Browns have selected safety Jamoris Slaughter from Notre Dame in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. BEREA, Ohio Browns new free safety, Jamoris Slaughter, picked at No. 175 in the sixth round out of Notre Dame, sat out 10 games last year with a ruptured Achilles tendon but expects to be ready to compete for the Browns starting free safety job by training camp. Seven months later, Slaughter wants to compete for a starting job. Since that time, Slaughter has focused on rehabbing his injury, and getting himself ready to participate in an NFL training camp in July. "People told me I could've gone in the first, second or third round if not for the injury,'' he said. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder admitted in a conference call he was surprised to be drafted due to the injury, but believes he will be ready for training camp.
