    Sensabaugh has started at safety for the Cowboys the past four seasons. But safety certainly moves up the “need list” for the Cowboys this off-season now that they’ve decided to move on from Sensabaugh. “Been informed I’m being released for cap purposes,” Sensabaugh tweeted early this afternoon. I'm not going to sit here and tell you Gerald Sensabaugh was the second coming of Ronnie Lott, or that replacing him has suddenly jumped to the top of the Dallas Cowboys ' offseason priority list after they cut him Monday for salary-cap room. The 30-year-old Sensabaugh becomes an unrestricted free agent as soon as the release is official, giving him a one-week head start in finding a new team before the beginning of full-scale free agency next week. However, the Cowboys could find a safety in free agency who fits what Kiffin is looking for, though the salary cap budget is tight, at that position and still use a mid-round pick to add another safety. The safety pool in free agency this year is deep, as is the safety pool in this year's draft.
