    At least one league source familiar with Cruz’s situation believes it will remain that way and Cruz will remain absent from the program at least until next week. If and when Cruz signs his tender, Tuck and the rest of the Giants should expect him at workouts with the rest of the team. Until it is done or he decides to sign his tender, though, there’s no reason for Cruz to surrender what little leverage he has by showing up to voluntary workouts. Per Art Stapleton I don't think Cruz is a real threat to hold out of minicamp, training camp or any portion of the season, but I think he's 100 percent right not to show up today. He’s also not subject to any fines or punishment from the team. But his absence along with his silence is certainly interesting given the high-profile nature of his contract situation.
