Veteran NFL reporter Jason Cole reports that the Texans have agreed to terms on a contract with wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and that Hopkins will sign the deal shortly. The Houston Texans have signed first-round pick WR DeAndre Hopkins, giving them seven of nine 2013 draft picks now under contract. With Hopkins signing, safety D.J. The Texans rookies reported on Sunday with the first full-squad practice coming later this week, so Hopkins won’t be missing any time on the field. Hopkins, who’ll start opposite Andre Johnson, will join his rookie teammates in the conditioning program today. Hopkins hasn’t been guaranteed the starting job, but he’d have to fall awfully flat not to wind up in the lineup when the regular season gets underway given the way that the team has gushed about his ability since drafting him in April. They spend two hours a day on conditioning today through Thursday when the veterans report. Two-a-day drills begin Friday.
