Eagles Notebook: Eagles' Matthews expects Packers' Matthews to play

Sunday's game against the Eagles will give him the chance to play against his brother Casey Matthews, who plays linebacker for Philadelphia. The Packers wanted to see how linebacker Clay Matthews managed with a club on his right hand in Thursday’s practice before making a decision about whether or not he’d play against the Eagles this Sunday and it seems that he managed just fine. If all goes well with that, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Matthews should be in the lineup against the Eagles on Sunday. Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy would venture only that Clay Matthews "went through the normal reps" in yesterday's practice, when McCarthy spoke with Philadelphia-area reporters in an evening conference call. Also, the argument can be made that the Packers have been hit harder than any team in the NFL by injuries in 2013. Daniels, a defensive lineman by trade, has been used a great deal as an outside linebacker in Green Bay’s 3-4 scheme as well as being a bit of a “Joker” defender for Dom Capers, aligning in many different spots of the defense.
