Linebacker Scott Fujita, an 11-year NFL veteran who has played for the Chiefs, Cowboys, Saints, and Browns, will retire from the NFL as a member of the team with which he won a Super Bowl championship. "Timing-wise, it just seemed appropriate," Fujita said from Peru, where he is on an 18-person expedition with good friend and confidant Steve Gleason. "It was an important acquisition for us, getting a player of his caliber to come to New Orleans despite the conditions for a number of reasons," Saints GM Mickey Loomis said, "because he saw an opportunity to become involved in the rebuilding of the city, yet quickly realized how important the team was to that effort."
