• Giants re-sign tackle Beatty to five-year deal

    The New York Giants have re-signed offensive tackle Will Beatty to a five-year contract, the team announced Wednesday. "It's good to be home," Beatty said in a statement released by the Giants. If Beatty hit the open market, he was likely to get a similar or better deal from another team. They have invested a lot in Beatty over time and now want to cash in on the prime of his career. Good team guy, too. According to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger, the Giants signed Beatty to a deal worth up to $38.75 million, with $12.5 million signing bonus and $19 million fully guaranteed. This is very good news for the Giants going forward. The left tackle has played in 50 games since being drafted by the Giants in the second round of the 2009 draft.
