Tampa Bay coach Greg Schiano said Thursday that cornerback Darrelle Revis will be on the field “in some capacity’’ when the team opens training camp next week. When the Buccaneers hold their first training camp practice on Thursday, July 25, Greg Schiano anticipates cornerback Darrelle Revis will be on the field, the Buccaneers’ head coach said today, per the club’s official Twitter feed. I think the priority is to make sure Revis is ready for the regular-season opener against his former team, the New York Jets Schiano said defensive end Adrian Clayborn and guards Carl Nicks and Davin Joseph , who also are coming off injuries, are in similar situations to Revis. But Schiano said all four of those players have progressed well. The Buccaneers and Revis figure to be prudent with regard to his practice participation, considering the four-time Pro Bowl cornerback is coming off an ACL tear that ended his final season with the Jets. In other words, the Bucs might use caution and limit some of the veterans recovering from injuries early in camp. For mid-July, this is a silver lining.
