    Quarterback David Garrard is out of retirement and back with the New York Jets. The Jets have re-signed David Garrard, the team announced. The Jets signed Garrard over the summer, but he “retired” due to knee injuries. On Thursday, the team placed Garrard on the Jets exempt list, which means he can attend meetings and practice for two weeks, but he can’t play in any games. He told Idzik that he planned to put his name out there, and wanted to make sure the GM heard it from him first. It was not really the jogging, the weight training or the physical therapy that told David Garrard his chronic left knee troubles had healed enough for him to come out of retirement. The move comes two days after the Jets announced season-ending surgery for former starter Mark Sanchez. "I've been going out just about every other morning and running three miles on concrete and I really thought that would be the real test on if my knee would swell back up and get sore again and it hasn't.
