While it was essentially an extra day of work before this week’s game at Houston, the Broncos were without wide receiver Wes Welker, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. Next time we see Wes Welker on the field, it had better be a playoff game in January. Welker missed last week’s loss after suffering his second concussion in a month. The Broncos must sit their star slot receiver for the final two games of the regular season in hopes he can adequately recover from repeated concussions in time for the team's playoff run. According to sportingcharts.com, Welker dubiously leads the NFL this season with 10 drops. By winning both, they can secure the top seed in the AFC playoffs and home field advantage.
