The Washington Nationals placed first baseman Adam LaRoche on the 15-day disabled list with a right quad strain, the team announced Sunday. That LaRoche is hitting the DL so quickly may actually be a good sign. LaRoche has been dealing with the injury for about two weeks, and Williams said the team would consider placing him on the 15-day disabled list after looking at Saturday's MRI results. As Williams noted, LaRoche has been a key contributor on offense, even more so with the absence of sluggers like Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman, both on the DL. Adam LaRoche's nagging right quadriceps injury flared up again during Friday night's 8-0 loss to the A's, when he went 0-for-2 as a designated hitter before being replaced with the Nationals trailing by seven runs.
