Lombardi: Jets had 12,000 unsold tickets as of FridayLombardi said that 12,000 tickets to Monday night’s game between the Texans and the Jets were unsold as of Friday. The Jets denied an NFL Network report Sunday morning that said 12,000 tickets for Monday night's game were unsold as of Friday. Earlier this morning Lombardi reported that, as of Friday, the Jets had 12,000 unsold tickets for Monday Night's surefire fiasco of a match up with Houston and speculated how this will factor into the Tebow as a starter dilemma. Of course, all games will be televised if the Jets and/or their sponsors buy all unsold tickets at 34 cents on the dollar. Meanwhile, that many unsold tickets could have triggered a local blackout of the game, unless the Jets bought up the balance at 34 cents on the dollar. On Sunday morning, NFL Network’s Mike Lombardi suggested at the tail end ofFirst on the Field that the Jets were more than 12,000 tails short as of Friday when it comes to selling tickets to Monday night’s game against the Texans. It’s still unclear whether and to what extent the Jets are having trouble selling tickets.
