    Turner, who has started every game this year, has seen his workload drop.  Turner’s per-carry average is way down, from 4.5 yards in 2011 to 3.8 yards now. Even when Turner doesn’t call a play, such as when audibled into a fake punt deep in San Diego’s own end zone that was converted, it’s in large part due to the head coach.  The veteran of so many firings and vicious public attacks has perhaps a better grasp on the reality of his situation than anyone, but he acknowledged this victory was special if only for the validation it gave him with the only people whose opinion he really values and to whom he has been preaching.
