Napoli is looking for a four-year deal, and the Rangers have indicated they are willing to go just two years at this point. Mike Napoli met with the Mariners this past week, and the free-agent catcher/first baseman is still talking to the club he may leave, the Rangers. Napoli played in 108 games for the Rangers in 2012, hitting .212 with 24 home runs, 56 RBIs and a .469 slugging percentage. Jon Daniels is playing quarterback for the Rangers. The Rangers haven't done much yet this winter other than pick up left-handed reliever Tommy Hottovy from the Royals and catcher Konrad Schmidt from the D-backs. But their main free-agent target is pitcher Zack Greinke, and they'll likely take a run at switch-hitting outfielder/first baseman Nick Swisher if Hamilton goes elsewhere.
