• Nets guard Johnson day to day with sore heel

    Summary of 5 articles · Updated Feb 24, 2013
Brooklyn Nets shooting guard Joe Johnson missed Friday night's game against the Houston Rockets due to a sore left heel. Johnson initially felt pain in his heel during the two games before the All-Star break. Johnson, 31, is averaging 17 points for the Nets on 42.3 percent shooting. Brook Lopez scored 27 points for the Nets, who played without starting guard Joe Johnson for the first time this season because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot. It's still unknown if Johnson will return for Tuesday night's game in New Orleans. Houston was also short-handed, since newly acquired Thomas Robinson, Francisco Garcia and Tyler Honeycutt, acquired from Sacramento on Wednesday, weren't available yet because the players sent to the Kings hadn't completed their physicals in time.
