    I did this post because it's worth saying something about Tynes. Tynes is a free agent who told the team he was looking to test the market. Tynes spent six seasons with the Giants, and during that time he kicked the game-winning field goal, in overtime, in the NFC Championship Game, twice. So they passed on the 34-year-old Tynes and turned to the 33-year-old Brown, whom GM Jerry Reese called “an experienced, proven kicker in this league.” With salary cap considerations, the Giants have been making minor moves in free agency thus far. He’ll be remembered for the two overtime kicks that propelled the Giants to Super Bowls XLII and XLVI a 47-yarder in frigid conditions in Green Bay and a 31-yarder in the mud in San Francisco a little more than a year ago.
