The Rangers placed ace starter Yu Darvish on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation on Wednesday. An MRI revealed Texas Rangers ace Yu Darvish has mild inflammation in his right elbow and there is no timetable for his return despite his place on the 15-day disabled list. The Rangers have placed pitcher Yu Darvish on the disabled list with inflammation in his right elbow. With Darvish out, the Rangers called up Robbie Ross from Triple-A Round Rock to face the Rays. Meister's initial diagnosis was inflammation, but Darvish will undergo an MRI on Thursday. "Yu expressed he could pitch if we were in a different spot," Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said. After all, this is a team that has now used the disabled list 24 different times this season, including season-ending injuries to Prince Fielder, Matt Harrison, Jurickson Profar and Mitch Moreland.
