The Carolina Panthers have lost another player to injury, as today the team placed free safety Haruki Nakamura on injured reserve. As expected, the Panthers placed free safety Haruki Nakamura on injured reserve Tuesday, two days after he aggravated a groin injury during the second half of a 30-20 win against Atlanta. Nakamura?s injury leaves the Panthers extremely thin at safety. Nakamura, who had been playing with a pulled groin, is the fourth defensive starter to be lost for the season. Former starter Sherrod Martin had been placed on IR the week before. Carolina now has placed 16 players on injured reserve this season and currently have 13 players on IR, no one handicapping the Panthers season would have ever guessed they would be that banged up. The Carolina Panthers are creeping up on the kind of record they don?t want to set.
