The Eagles are down to 75 players after making a roster move involving outside linebacker Phillip Hunt. Eagles linebacker Phillip Hunt went unclaimed off waivers Wednesday and will go on season-ending injured reserve. Hunt was waived/injured by the team on Tuesday and will revert to injured reserve if he goes unclaimed by the rest of the league. With Hunt off the roster, the Eagles have seven outside linebackers still vying for spots on the roster. Hunt was competing for a backup role on the Eagles defense while transitioning from the 4-3 scheme run in the past to the 3-4 base defense put in place under new defensive coordinator Bill Davis. The former CFL player joined the Eagles in 2011 and had three sacks in 22 games for them over the last two seasons. The roster must be trimmed to 53 by 6 p.m. Saturday.
