Report: LaMarr Woodley visiting Titans on Thursday

When it became likely that linebacker LaMarr Woodley would be released by the Steelers, one of the teams that came to mind as a landing spot was the Titans. Woodley can earn as much as $12 million, according to an ESPN report. Woodley’s coming off a pair of underwhelming seasons that resulted in nine total sacks and a run of injuries that kept him off the field for eight games, but the Titans’ need for help off the edge may have them hoping a healthy Woodley can get back to his old tricks. News of Woodley’s addition comes on the same day the Raiders reached a deal with Giants defensive end Justin Tuck. It’s conceivable that the addition of Woodley means Tarver intends to switch to a 3-4 scheme or at least use that look more often than he did the past two seasons. The Raiders used primarily a 4-3 alignment the past two seasons under defensive coordinator Jason Tarver.
