• Report: Reds to place Bailey (arm) on DL

    Summary of 2 articles · Updated Aug 14, 2014
The Reds and Bailey were optimistic that he could make the Saturday start until he played catch on Tuesday and still didn't feel right. Cincinnati Reds pitcher Homer Bailey has a flexor mass injury in his right arm and will be placed on the 15-day disabled list before his next start, according to a report. "That's going to keep him out for a while," Reds manager Bryan Price said on Thursday. Bailey, who signed a $105 million extension in February, was supposed to start Wednesday's game, but his start was pushed back to give him extra rest. The flexor mass injury is similar to one fellow starting pitcher Mat Latos endured during an April setback as he tried to return from elbow and knee surgeries.
