In the midst of the Earl Thomas news today came a report that the Seahawks have worked out former Minnesota defensive tackle Kevin Williams: Howard Balzer of The Sports Xchange reports the Seahawks tried out Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams on Monday. Were the Seahawks to add Williams, he would likely join Tony McDaniel, Brandon Mebane and Jordan Hill among the primary options inside. The Seahawks have taken a liking to some of the Vikings’ core players of recent seasons, most notably trading for wideout Percy Harvin last spring. But he was still productive a year ago making 29 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 15 games for the Vikings and provide low-cost veteran depth in the middle of the defensive line, which took some hits in free agency.
