A group called Seattle Out & Proud says the Mariners will be the first Major League Baseball team to publicly fly the gay pride flag. The Seattle Mariners aren't shying away from the most controversial topic in the country right now they're flying a gay pride flag at Safeco Field during Sunday's game with the Chicago Cubs. Q13 says it's a history-making move, as the Mariners are the first MLB team to fly the rainbow gay rights flag at a game. The team has gotten a handful of comments about its plans, which were publicized by the group organizing Seattle's gay pride parade on Sunday. The Mariners, however, couldn't verify that. Supreme Court, but actually a show of support for the Seattle community. This is a much different story than in 2008 when a lesbian couple claimed discrimination when they were asked not to kiss at Safeco.
