Quick gave up just 10 goals in seven games to the Sharks last postseason but surpassed that total in less than 4 1/2 periods in the rematch. - For more than a decade there have been no questions about who will start in goal for the San Jose Sharks come playoff time. The Los Angeles Kings and their star goalie calmly went back to work at home Friday after they were blitzed 6-3 by the San Jose Sharks in their playoff opener. Fourth-liners Mike Brown and Raffi Torres scored second-period goals to erase an early two-goal deficit and the Sharks shredded Quick for a second straight game, beating the Kings 7-2 Sunday night to take a 2-0 lead in their first-round series. Star goalie Jonathan Quick was pulled after a rough first two periods, the Kings fell behind by five goals in the second period as they gave up far too many odd-man rushes and Los Angeles couldn't get anything past Antti Niemi until it was far too late. Sensing that his combinations needed some adjusting after a frustrating first period, he pulled Joe Pavelski off of Joe Thornton’s wing and slotted him on the third line between Tommy Wingels and James Sheppard.
