Freeman worked out for the Giants on Tuesday. Quarterback Josh Freeman and the New York Giants are working toward a deal that should be completed over the next day or so, according to a league source. But the Giants must have seen something that day and in Freeman’s body of work with the Buccaneers to make them think he has potential. Freeman will compete for the No. 2 job on the Giants with Curtis Painter and Ryan Nassib. He was signed by the Minnesota Vikings and started just one game losing to the Giants on "Monday Night Football." He was the third quarterback selected after Detroit's Matthew Stafford and New Jets' Mark Sanchez in 2009, and he had 3,451 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions with the Bucs in 2010.
