With all the bad news in terms of injuries and what not, the Steelers got some good news on Wednesday with the announcement that TE/FB David Johnson is finally back off the PUP list. The return of Johnson bolsters the Steelers’ options at a position weakened by the absence of Heath Miller , who remains on PUP. The Steelers activated Johnson from the physically unable to perform list early Wednesday afternoon. Following practice, Johnson, who tore his right anterior cruciate ligament in August 2012, said he expects to play in at least one of the Steelers’ remaining two preseason games. The added depth at tight end was a welcome sight for coach Mike Tomlin, who is awaiting the return of starter Heath Miller, who also is rehabilitating a major knee injury, and reserve Matt Spaeth, who is out for at least another six weeks with a foot injury.
