The Steelers made two more roster moves today when they placed tight end Matt Spaeth on the special injured reserve/designated-to-return and signed rookie linebacker Terence Garvin from their practice squad. The Steelers, as expected, placed tight end Matt Spaeth on the short-term injured reserve list Tuesday afternoon. Spaeth spent the first four years of his career with the Steelers and returned to the fold this season after two years in Chicago. Spaeth, who had surgery on his foot to repair a Lisfranc injury, can begin practicing six weeks from now if he's ready. Linebacker Terence Garvin was elevated after a short stay on the practice squad to replace Spaeth on the 53-man roster. The Steelers have now made four moves since final cuts on Saturday. As for Garvin, he was an undrafted free agent, and played well enough in camp to surprise many and work his way onto the practice squad and onto the 53-man roster.
