    If Patriots running back Stevan Ridley is going to get out of his “funk,” he’ll have to do it another day. New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley was announced as inactive for Sunday's game, coming on the heels of three games in which he has fumbled. With the Patriots declaring running back Stevan Ridley inactive for today's game against the Texans, it officially puts him at a crossroads with the team. Ridley lost a fumble in the season opener at Buffalo that was returned for a touchdown, then lost fumbles in consecutive games against the Steelers, Panthers, and Broncos. Ridley, a third-year back from LSU, was inactive just once before Sunday: As a rookie, in the 2012 AFC Championship Game against Baltimore. Ridley has taken accountability for the fumbling issues and reached out to former Patriots running back Kevin Faulk earlier this week, as Faulk had similar struggles early in his career before turning things around and becoming one of the team's most reliable players. His backup, LeGarrette Blount, also was benched following a fumble of his own.
