Drew Cannon is a 23-year old wunderkind that has been calculating various on/off court stats and lineup data since he was a teenager. “He’s really talented because he’s really ambitious,” Stevens, who was hired last week as the 17th head coach in Celtics history, told the Globe. Stevens hired Cannon last year to chart his team’s best lineups after Cannon graduated with a degree in statistics from Duke, and he’s pulling the former Basketball Prospectus scribe to Boston to take on an as-yet unnamed role. Both Larranaga and Young were with the Celtics last season. Shrewsberry, an Indianapolis native, arrived at Butler in 2007 as coordinator of basketball operations, and was promoted to assistant coach in July 2008.
