The Panthers linebacker was named November’s NFC defensive player of the month. And the ninth-year linebacker has been a key to that resurgence with his play, not just his inspirational story. Linebacker Thomas Davis was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month, the fifth player in Carolina Panthers history to earn the award. Davis had 35 tackles during the month, including 17 in the Panthers win over the Patriots on Monday Night Football. We’ve known that Thomas Davis was one of the toughest and most resilient players in the league, after overcoming three torn ACLs. He helped the Panthers go 4-0 in the month, extending their winning streak to a franchise-record seven games heading into this week's game against Tampa Bay. All told, the Panthers have won seven straight, and have the league’s best scoring defense, allowing 13.7 points per game.
