• Tight quad to cost Darvish his next start

    Summary of 2 articles · Updated Aug 22, 2012
"I just felt a little tightness in my quad during my bullpen yesterday," Darvish said in a statement. Yu Darvish was scratched from his start Thursday against the Twins with tightness in his right quad. Darvish is scheduled to start again Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Entering Wednesday with a five-game lead in the American League West and 39 games left in the regular season, Washington did not want to take any chances with Darvish's health. The only other time he missed a start this season was right before the All-Star break, when manager Ron Washington wanted to give him some extra rest.
