• Warriors' Lee active against Nuggets in Game 6

Lee suffered his injury early in the fourth quarter of the Warriors' Game 1 loss to the Nuggets. The Warriors are making their first postseason appearance since 2007. All-Star forward David Lee made a surprising return for the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night after not dressing the previous four games with what the team had called a season-ending hip injury. The Warriors handed it to the Nuggets in the postseason, and this should be fresh on everyone’s mind as the team approaches its offseason. It’s the best I’ve seen him run the floor in a Warriors uniform. Yet by replacing Lee’s production with a combination of Harrison Barnes, Draymond Green, and Carl Landry , Golden State roared back from a 1-0 series deficit to beat the Nuggets in six games and become the best story of the first round. Bogut was the MVP of the Warriors last night in the biggest game of their season. It was great to watch particularly for the sheer courageousness and selflessness of the effort and it was great to see the joy and satisfaction he took from his performance, and the series-clinching win, after the game. It’s true that a singular game-changing force – in this case Golden State’s ability to get what they wanted on the perimeter – can be sloughed off as a bad matchup not worth obsessing about in the offseason, but this series wasn’t as close as the 4-2 ending suggests.
